Ag Venture Tours

Half-day walking tours (1.5 - 2.5 hours) range in cost from $45 - $100/adult and $35 - $75/child (5 - 16 years old). There is a minimum requirement of two guests and a maximum of 10 guests. The walking tours are not private, and I will be combining guests from different parties. Each walking tour is entirely outside, very safe, and low risk from the coronavirus. Covid-19 safety protocols will be enforced (see FAQ’s).

Cancellation Policy:

High Season (April 1 - November 30)
Monday-Thursday: Seven Days from Date of Tour (75% Non-Refundable)
Friday-Sunday & Holidays: 30 Days Prior to Date of Tour (75% Non-Refundable)

Low Season (December 1 - March 31)

Monday-Thursday: Three Days from Date of the Tour (75% Non-Refundable)
Friday-Sunday & Holidays: 14 Days Prior to Date of Tour (75% Non-Refundable)

Tours Include:

Our meeting locations are easy to find and you are expected to report 15 minutes early to ensure that we leave on time. Individual rates include the walking tour, expert guide service and commentary, wine tasting or entry fees, and a few surprises along the way. Maps and literature for each guest are also included with each tour. Each tour route is relatively flat with little elevation gain but the tours do require a moderate amount of walking (especially the Monterey tour). Each tour is ADA compliant.

Learn all about the Salinas Valley agriculture industry otherwise known as the "Salad Bowl of the World.” Observe and discuss fresh vegetable production (land preparation, irrigation, planting, insect and disease control, and harvesting) with a focus on artichokes. Common crops that we also see on the tour are lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, Brussels sprouts, and strawberries. We also discuss vegetable gardening tips, packing, and cooking artichokes. The walking tour ends with a complimentary tasting of either an artichoke cupcake or deep-fried artichoke hearts. There is also free time for shopping in the Pezzini store. This walking tour covers approximately 0.2 miles with no hills and restrooms are easily available.

Learn all about Monterey’s fascinating history from the arrival of the Spanish to the current day. This walking tour features the Presidio, San Carlos Cathedral, Customs House, Fisherman’s Wharf, Colton Hall, Cooper-Molera Adobe, and the Stevenson Hotel. We also discuss current points of interest like Alvarado Street, Defense Language Institute, MIIS, local restaurants, and bars. This walking tour covers approximately 2.4 miles with one small hill and a brief stop halfway through for restrooms and/or drinks.
